These terms govern the use of this website and the engagement of services provided by Harmoni Legal, Suite 11-1, Menara Worldwide, 198 Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

1. Definitions

In these Terms, the following definitions apply:

  • Firm / We / Us / Our — Harmoni Legal, a legal practice registered and operating in Malaysia.
  • Client / You — an individual who engages the Firm for legal services or uses this website.
  • Services — the family law services offered by the Firm, including the Family Position Consultation, Custody and Maintenance Counsel, and Long-Term Family Counsel Relationship.
  • Engagement — a formal retained matter, commencing upon execution of an engagement letter.
  • Website — the website accessible at harmonim.pro and any related pages.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By using this website or engaging the Firm's services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or engage our services. You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. Use of the website on behalf of another person constitutes a representation that you have authority to bind that person.

3. Nature of services

Harmoni Legal provides legal advisory and representation services in family law matters under Malaysian civil and Syariah jurisdiction. Services available include:

  • Family Position Consultation — a single confidential session with written summary (RM 250)
  • Custody and Maintenance Counsel — legal support for active custody, access, and maintenance matters (from RM 690)
  • Long-Term Family Counsel Relationship — ongoing advisory engagement with annual review and standing representation (RM 1,380 per year)

The nature, scope, and fees of any retained engagement are set out in a written engagement letter, which forms the primary contractual document between the Firm and the Client. These Terms apply alongside the engagement letter; where there is a conflict, the engagement letter prevails.

4. Website use

This website is provided for informational purposes. Content on the website does not constitute legal advice and does not create a solicitor-client relationship. A relationship is established only upon execution of an engagement letter.

You agree not to use this website:

  • For any unlawful purpose
  • To transmit unsolicited commercial communications
  • To attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its systems
  • In any way that could damage, disable, or impair the website

5. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, layout, and design — is the property of Harmoni Legal or its licensors and is protected by Malaysian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any website content without prior written consent. The Firm grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view website content for personal, non-commercial use only.

6. Fees and payment

Fees for the Family Position Consultation are due at the time of booking or prior to the session. Fees for retained engagements are set out in the engagement letter and are payable as specified therein. All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM).

The Firm reserves the right to decline to act or to cease acting in a matter where fees remain unpaid. Court filing fees, disbursements, and third-party costs are billed separately and with advance notice.

7. Confidentiality

All information shared with the Firm is treated as confidential and protected by legal professional privilege. The Firm will not disclose client information except as required by law, as authorised by the client, or in the limited circumstances described in the Privacy Policy. This obligation continues after the conclusion of an engagement.

8. Disclaimers

Information on this website is provided in good faith and for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice specific to any individual's circumstances. Legal outcomes depend on the particular facts of each matter and cannot be predicted or assured. The Firm does not make any representation regarding the outcome of any legal matter.

The website is provided on an "as is" basis. The Firm makes no representations as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of content on the website and accepts no liability for errors or omissions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, the Firm's liability for any claim arising from use of this website is limited to RM 500. The Firm is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the website or reliance on its content.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the Legal Profession Act 1976 or applicable Malaysian law.

10. Termination of services

Either party may terminate a retained engagement by providing written notice. The Firm may cease acting immediately where a client provides misleading information, fails to meet payment obligations, or requests action that would breach applicable law or professional conduct rules. Upon termination, fees for work completed to the date of termination remain payable.

11. Dispute resolution

Any dispute arising from the use of this website or the provision of services shall first be referred to informal discussion between the parties. If not resolved within 30 days, the dispute shall be referred to mediation under the Malaysian Mediation Centre's rules. If mediation does not result in resolution, the dispute shall be referred to the courts of Malaysia.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. The courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the use of this website.

13. Changes to these terms

Harmoni Legal may update these Terms from time to time. The date of the most recent revision is shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
